King of the Hill

  • Body positive
  • No rape jokes, ever.
  • No eating disorder jokes, ever.
  • No pedophilia, because Hank would’ve kicked their ass.
  • The closest thing to racism was Racist Dawg, and that wasn’t really racist.
  • Self harm jokes? Nope.

Yuuup

Family Guy:

  • endoreses gay marraige, Brian’s cousin married his boyfriend in the griffins backyard despite lois having some hang ups toward gay marriage but she was adult enough to not let it get in the way of their happiness
  • empowered Lois in several episodes where she stands up to her abusive father on how he treats her family and where she became adept at martial arts.
  • explored transsexuality when quagmire’s father got a sex change because he didn’t feel right as a man and Brian got intimate with her
  • explored the mental illness of soldiers when Joe’s son went MIA because of a traumatic even he suffered while on tour in the middle east and lied about it to his family and friends until he had to confront it when Joe found out and he owned up to it.
  • took on ableism when peter had a restaurant but banned paraplegics until he himself became one and empathized with Joe and other non-able people.
  • Also took on islamaphobia where peter made a middle astern friend and even thought hat friend turned out to be an actual terrorist peter didn’t hold it against all middle eastern people.
  • took on the whole top 1% and 99% political arguement when Brian took on carter pueterschmitt when he pretty much owned all of quahog
  • also addressed how big busineses can take away and kill smaller ones when a “walmart” moved into quahog and shut down Clevelands deli, Mort’s drug store, and the Brewery Peter worked at by running them out of business.
  • Also showed that the pharmaceutical industry is just about money when Lois’ father actually had a cure for cancer developed but didn’t release it because it wouldn’t make him money and didn’t even after promising Lois he would.

I never watched king of the hill as much as I did family guy, but family talked about some real issues using the humor of it’s show and not in a mocking way either.

Why aren’t more people freaking out about the new Venezuelan labor law?

It’s ONLY A HUGE VICTORY FOR FEMINISM, SOCIALISM, AND WOMEN OF COLOR. Not a big deal or anything. Tumblr is mysteriously silent about this.
